Thanksgiving: A Feast of Flavors & Feelings

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and if you’re anything like me, you can almost taste the buttery rolls, the creamy mac and cheese, the sweet potato pie, and, of course, the perfectly seasoned turkey. It’s that time of year when kitchens become war zones, with a mix of chaos and love, as pots bubble, ovens bake, and dishes are seasoned to perfection. The aroma alone is enough to make anyone’s mouth water. Finger-licking meals are being prepped, recipes are being dusted off, and family traditions are coming alive once again.

But Thanksgiving is more than just the feast—it’s about where and how we spend it. So, where will you be this year?

Will you be surrounded by family, laughing at the same old stories, while someone burns the biscuits (again)? Will you gather with friends, creating a chosen family vibe, where everyone brings a dish or two? Or will you find yourself alone, perhaps by choice or circumstance, taking a quiet moment to reflect on your blessings with a plate of takeout?

Maybe you’re one of the unsung heroes in a hospital, working tirelessly to care for others while missing your own dinner table. Or perhaps you’ll be stuck in an airport, the chaos of travel overtaking the holiday spirit. Whatever your story, Thanksgiving looks different for everyone, and that’s okay.

In the everyday hustle and bustle of this holiday season, let’s take a moment to breathe. To be grateful for the love we’ve shared, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the opportunities ahead. Whether your day is filled with family chatter, the hum of a hospital ward, the din of an airport, or the silence of solitude, I want you to know this: you are seen, you are loved, and you are appreciated.

So, as the finger-licking meals are prepared and the Thanksgiving table is set—wherever and however that may be—I wish you peace, blessings, love, and safety this Thanksgiving. May your day be as flavorful as the feast and as meaningful as the moments shared. Happy Thanksgiving!
